Kids Yoga Teacher Certification
Get certified with practical, classroom-tested tools, original music, and a clear framework to build calm, connection, and learning readiness wherever you teach.
Teaching kids feels different than it used to.
Children are arriving with higher emotional needs, shorter attention spans and greater dependence on screens.
Emotions escalate faster. Transitions are harder. Learning gets interrupted more often.
At the same time, we’re asking more of children — introducing academics earlier, requiring longer periods of stillness, and reducing opportunities for movement and play.
These expectations do not align with what we know about child development, the neuroscience of learning or how children build self-regulation.
Whether you’re leading a classroom, supporting students one-on-one, or guiding enrichment programming, you’re expected to help children learn and stay engaged without tools that match the current reality.
It’s exhausting!
You’re not doing anything wrong. The demands have shifted and the supports haven’t kept up.
Structured & Practical Support
Yo Re Mi provides ready-to-use music, movement and mindfulness tools aligned with how children actually learn.
Short, consistent practices that bring movement and mindfulness into the day.
Shared language that helps children name what’s happening in their bodies.
Rhythms and routines that build connection before escalation happens.
In school settings, this approach supports MTSS Tier 1 universal practices while strengthening Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
When these strategies are woven into the flow of the day, learning time is protected instead of interrupted.
Putting This Into Practice
We’ve spent more than a decade working in preschool and elementary classrooms, enrichment programs, and therapeutic settings — with educators, neurodivergent learners, small groups, and entire grade bands.
If you agree that:
Play = learning
Movement supports literacy
Music is STEM
Mindfulness builds focus
…then you already understand the foundation of our approach.

It doesn’t fix every systemic issue in education, but it helps me meet the moment. I feel like I have more tools in my toolbox, especially for de-escalation and anxiety.”

Built by Educators
Yo Re Mi was created by practitioners with years of classroom experience and professional backgrounds in early education, music, and child development.
Rachel Costello
Rachel Costello is a certified yoga therapist and educator who has spent nearly two decades working at the intersection of yoga, child development, and school-based practice.
She co-created Yo Re Mi inside New York City public schools, developing a structured, music-integrated approach to help children build regulation skills within everyday classroom routines. Her work blends developmental science, mindful communication, and practical implementation.
Rachel has led professional development for teachers, counselors, and school teams across diverse settings. Her focus is simple: practical tools that support children’s regulation, resilience, and readiness to learn.
Dan Costello
Dan Costello is a professional musician, curriculum developer, and early childhood educator with more than 15 years of experience working in schools.
He specializes in translating music and movement into classroom routines that support regulation, engagement, and learning. His background in play-based education and songwriting informs Yo Re Mi’s original music and curriculum design.
Dan plays multiple instruments and has written hundreds of songs used in classrooms nationwide.
His proudest recent achievement? Being a dad who gets dinner on the table before bedtime.
