Our 5 Most Popular Kids Music and Yoga Videos on YouTube

We are so proud to have built a library of mindful video resources for children on our YouTube channel, available to the public. 1. Musical Boat Pose for Kids

This animated and interactive kids yoga video was so much fun to create! Explore the varieties of boats that exist, and receive the whole-body benefits of Boat Pose — all while singing a classic song.

Boat Pose is a favorite for its strengthening and balancing traits, and offers opportunity to support SEL (Social Emotional Learning) in the form of partnered boat variations!

Boat yoga pose for children can be practiced in different ways:

2. Children’s Mindful Warm Up for Music and Yoga Activities

When we lead Yo Re Mi music and yoga classes with children, we don’t just jump right in. Like any exercise, we warm up first! Let’s warm up our bodies and voices together.

This is a great video to help safely prepare our bodies for singing and movement — we use this warm up practice at the beginning of every Yo Re Mi class, and it is perfect for music education as well as fostering deeper connections with our minds and bodies.

Once you’re warmed up, why not head over to our Kids Music and Yoga App and try one of our 15-minute activity sequences?

3. Kids Song and Movement About Making Pizza

Making homemade pizza takes on a whole new meaning! Children can practice sequencing and repetition while giving their bodies a big stretch with this catchy, original song. In fact, one of our YouTube followers reported that her elementary class loved the musical pizza activity so much, they kept asking to do it again!

A wonderful part of this song (other than the pizza, of course) is its seated pose. If you are in a setting where seated activities will fare better than jumping and dancing, “Making A Pizza” and these other fun seated activities and kids songs might be the perfect fit.

4. Children Release Energy With “Hop A Lot, Stop!”

Release tension and all of that BIG energy after a full day, and regain focus with this lively kids music and movement video. Not only is this movement-based song perfect for energizing, it is also an effective icebreaker for kids and helps children practice active listening.

Pair “Hop A Lot, Stop!” with a classic sing-along song like, “See The Bunnies Sleeping” for a fun approach to engaging in different movement modalities and imaginative play.

5. Breathing Ball for a Guided Breathing Exercise

Help children visualize mindful breathing practices and invite new, healthy energy into our bodies while exhaling old, stale energy.

The key to mindful breathing and self-regulation is to practice breathing techniques when calm so we are already familiar enough to use them we are stressed, emotional or overwhelmed. Read more about our favorite breathing exercises for children and their grown-ups.
